In 2017, software visionaries - Sarah Rodehorst and Janice Edwards - reunited at the Flying Biscuit, an Atlanta-based restaurant. Over omelettes, grits and coffee, they decided to form a startup - one that would offer cloud-based solutions for HR, finance and legal to extend the capabilities of HRIS solutions.
ePerkz is not their first startup. Sarah and Janice have spent the last 20 years launching B2B SaaS products in the human resource sector at various companies. They met in 2000 on the Advanced Technology Development Center (ATDC) campus at Georgia Tech when they worked at Connecture, a health insurance sales automation software startup.
At Connecture, Sarah spent most of her career leading delivery and market strategy. After Healthcare Reform passed, she founded and led their Healthcare Center of Excellence and Government Division. Under her leadership, her division closed $18 million in the first 12 months, which enabled Connecture to go public in an IPO in late 2014.
Sarah had the opportunity to exit Connecture, which she took when she was heavily recruited by ADP to lead Healthcare Reform for their newly formed ADP Health Compliance division. At ADP, she scaled the organization from 2 to 250 employees, onboarding team members, and optimizing processes to best support the division's growth.
Janice earned a B.A. in Molecular Biology at Princeton University and a Masters in Public Health (MPH) in Environmental and Occupational Health from Emory University. At Connecture, she led Product Management and help design their initial health plan product offering. She left Connecture in 2005 to cofound the startup, Colibrium. She not only designed the first version of Colibrium's software, but she ultimately led both the Product Management and Delivery teams. Ultimately, HGS saw the value in the Colibrium product and team and acquired the company in 2015.
ePerkz has experienced the same successes as the products the two innovators have launched over the last 20 years. To date, ePerkz clients have calculated over 11 million in severance pay, 750 severance agreements, 1000 furloughs, and reduced the processing time by 50%. Some of the largest organizations in the United States and abroad trust ePerkz to manage their workforce reductions.
